Lindiwe keeps climbing to the top
Khanye HR Superintendent, Lindiwe Aphane
In just two years, Lindiwe Aphane has made significant career progress. She began as an HR Admin Assistant in 2023, was promoted to HR Officer a year later, and now serves as Khanye’s HR Superintendent.
“When I arrived, I dedicated at least two years to the admin assistant role before even considering a promotion,” she says. Lindiwe exemplifies the qualities of an HR practitioner: patience, respect, compassion, and meticulousness. Her job often requires her to engage with numerous people on personal and professional matters. “People feel comfortable discussing anything because they know this office is a very safe space,” she says.
Outside of work, Lindiwe is a mother and student, pursuing an honours degree in psychology through UNISA. She acknowledges that balancing academics and family life can be challenging. “If you fully commit and push yourself to do it, you’ll find the time and discover that a healthy balance is achievable,” she remarks.
Lindiwe also credits a big part of her career advancement to Khanye’s supportive framework. “We have a good support system at Khanye. If you have seniors who notice and appreciate you as an individual, I think it makes it slightly easier to work your way up,” Lindiwe says
