The company would like to recruit Diesel Mechanics to be based at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit. 

 

DESCRIPTION 

To be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of auto-electrical equipment within the auto-electrical discipline according to sound engineering practice and equipment specifications.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 or N2

  • Must have Code 10 driver’s license.

  • Diesel Mechanic Trade

  • Experience on Auto Electrical would be advantageous

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3-year experience with Diesel Diagnosis and Maintenance on a mine

  • Must have previous experience on TMMs.

  • Must have great understanding and experience in maintenance and inspections on TMM’s.

  • Must have experience in hydraulic fault finding and repairs.

  • Must be able to read hydraulic schematics.

  • Must have experience on under carriage repairs and maintenance.

  • Must be able to do proper job planning and complete the task in time.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Ensure equipment under the incumbent's control are inspected, maintained and safe for us.

  • Ensure machine availability target and KPI’s are reached every month.

  • Fault finding on hydraulic circuits

  • Study job cards and determine maintenance/work to be done.

  • Keep proper service records on work completed

  • Investigate, diagnose and perform trade-related maintenance and repairs of equipment and machinery according to maintenance requirements.

  • Attend to defects raised on pre-start reports, breakdown sheets and inspection reports.   Provide relevant feedback to the Foreman and co-workers regarding equipment performance and conditions.

  • Carry out scheduled and non-scheduled repairs and maintenance

  • Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedures

  • Planning of activities must be in accordance with production schedules and allocation of resources

  • Ensure safe use of tools, machinery and equipment, including training on safety gear and procedures.

  • Enforce safety, health and environmental integrity principles applicable to area of responsibility.

  • Check machines going over brake test ramp during start shift.
