The company would like to recruit a safety administrator to be based at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12
COMSOC / SAMTRAC qualification
Admin qualifications
3–5 years’ relevant administrative experience in a mining and safety environment.
Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Power point)
English proficiency
Valid driver’s license
Valid certificate of fitness
EXPERIENCE
3-5 Years administrative experience is essential.
Advance computer skills and demonstrate expert-level proficiency
Experience in an enterprise business application will be advantageous (SAP, ERP Dynamics, Sage Accounting, Oracle, Iso Matrix, Srm systems etc…)
Experience in ISO45001 & ISO14001
OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure, Analytical thinking, Self-motivated
Professional written and verbal communication in English.
Absolutely NO previous criminal record
Demonstrated proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Office and data analysis.
Ability to build professional management presentations and executive summaries from raw data and reports.
Experience managing registers, electronic records and confidential documentation.
Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
Ability to execute tasks quickly and accurately, prioritise urgent requests and meet tight deadlines.
Self-motivated, with strong attention to detail, ownership and follow-through.
Commitment to confidentiality and safe working practices.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain accurate safety files, registers and controlled documents for audits and inspections.
Capture and verify incident, near-miss, hazard, inspection and audit data; follow up on incomplete reports.
Analyse safety data to identify trends, recurring issues and areas requiring attention.
Compile safety reports, dashboards and professional management presentations.
Track corrective actions, follow up on outstanding items and escalate overdue actions.
Procedure compilation and document control
Promote safety culture around the mine
Report safety performance and trends to senior management, highlighting areas for improvement.
Provide guidance and support to management on safety-related matters and regulatory compliance.
Monitor and promote employee wellbeing
Coordinate medical bookings and track attendance, certificates of fitness and expiry dates.
Administer access card applications, renewals and cancellations in line with approved requirements.
Maintain training, induction, competency and authorisation records; monitor renewals and missing documentation.
Support contractor onboarding and safety file administration.
Arrange meetings, take minutes and maintain action registers.
Coordinate information between Safety, HR, occupational health, security, operations and contractors.
Support safety awareness and employee wellbeing initiatives.
Complete routine and urgent tasks within agreed deadlines and carry out lawful and reasonable instructions.
