Vacancy: Stakeholder Relations Co-Ordinator

The company would like to recruit a Stakeholder Relations Co-Ordinator at Gugulethu Colliery, 13 km east of Hendrina (Mpumalanga).

DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this role is to manage relationships between the company, local community, local municipalities, government departments, traditional leaders and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in Development Studies/Social Science /Political Science or equivalent

  • B Degree in Development Studies/Social Science /Political Science or equivalent (advantageous)

  • Proficient in English and isiZulu

  • Valid driver’s license

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three years related working experience in a similar position within the Mining Industry

Other Skills/Competencies:

  • Good communication skills, particularly in English, with business writing skills.

  • Stakeholder relations management

  • Conflict management

  • Knowledge of the mining industry, DMRE and Mining charter management

  • SLP drafting, consultation and implementation

  • Understanding of Socio-Economic dynamics and complexities

  • Project management

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implementation of approved strategies and plans with regards to community initiatives

  • Co-ordinate and facilitate DMRE interaction, i.e., site inspections, etc.

  • Identify, select, and prioritize local community projects by ensuring alignment with SLP requirements Coordinating community forum meetings

  • Ensure the commitments documented in the Social and Labour Plan are being executed

  • Ensure communication is cascaded effectively to relevant parties

  • Build and foster community engagement platform

  • Play an effective role within SLP project management teams

  • Mediate and resolve conflict within the different stakeholders

  • Identify, select, and prioritize local community projects by ensuring alignment with SLP requirements
